We are committed to listening, responding appropriately and taking concerns seriously.

Independent reporting and complaints

The Office of the Independent Regulator

While we encourage concerns to be raised directly with JCP Youth, we recognise that some people may prefer to report concerns to an independent external body.

The Office of the Independent Regulator (OIR) oversees Tasmania’s Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework and accepts reports relating to child safety concerns within organisations working with children and young people. If you do not feel comfortable raising a concern directly with JCP Youth, or are dissatisfied with how a concern has been handled, you may contact the Office of the Independent Regulator directly.

All reports made to the OIR are assessed independently and may assist in ensuring organisations meet their child safety obligations under Tasmanian law.

Our commitment

At JCP Youth, the safety, wellbeing and best interests of children and young people are at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to creating safe, inclusive and empowering environments where children and young people are respected, valued, heard and supported to reach their full potential.

We believe every child and young person has the right to feel safe, be safe and be treated with dignity, respect and care, regardless of their age, gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural background, religion, ability, family circumstances or lived experience.
