What does support look like in a young person’s life? At JCP Youth, it begins with a relationship: showing up, getting to know someone and creating opportunities to discover what they are capable of.
That approach connects our work across mentoring, camps and development programs. The setting may change, but the focus stays with the young person — their strengths, their experiences and the possibilities ahead of them.
Connection before the next step
Our work is grounded in connection, consistency and belief in a young person’s future. We aim to help young people recognise their strengths, make positive choices and take an active role in shaping what comes next.
That means keeping relationships at the centre of practical support. Through our programs, mentoring sits alongside experiences that create space for young people to participate, connect and explore new challenges.
Learning through experience
One of our guiding beliefs is Energy Learning: learning by doing. Active experiences are part of how we invite young people to engage with personal development, with the young person at the centre.
Across JCP Youth, those experiences take different forms. They include early intervention camps, intensive mentoring, outdoor recreation and structured development programs. These are different starting points for connection, challenge and growth, shaped by each program’s purpose.
Safe, heard and respected
Our commitment to young people also means a commitment to child safety. Every young person has the right to feel safe and be treated with dignity. Listening to young people and responding to concerns are part of that responsibility.
For families, schools and people supporting a young person, a useful first step is understanding the different programs and their pathways. Each has its own focus and suitability requirements.
