In a message shared on 27 September 2026, Acting CEO Alex Bonde described Daryl as a foundational pillar of the organisation, recognising support that began in JCP’s earliest days and continued across many parts of its work.

“Daryl was a foundational pillar of JCP Youth, and quite simply, our organisation would not be standing where it is today without his unwavering support and impact.”

The tribute recalls Daryl putting on the first JCP shirt alongside Jade and Josh at a photoshoot at the Deloraine Football Club. It is a specific memory from the organisation’s beginnings, and one that places him firmly within the story of how JCP grew.

Support that took many forms

Over the years, Daryl’s contribution extended from financial generosity to time spent directly supporting young people. Alex’s message recognised his work cooking on camps, mentoring young men, running work programs, employing young people and paying for sponsorships.

His involvement combined time spent with young people, practical help at camps, and financial support. The tribute remembers that generosity across JCP’s history, describing how much of his heart Daryl gave to the work.

A lasting place in JCP’s story

Alex’s tribute expressed the depth of that connection:

“His legacy is woven directly into the fabric of everything we do.”

The memories shared in the tribute give a personal account of Daryl’s place in JCP’s beginnings and the support he continued to give over the years.

As Alex’s message concluded: “Rest in peace Daryl, forever remembered as part of JCP’s history”.
